The Anti-fragile or Anti-fragility Economy concept had been brought to me by a brilliant Organizational Coach, citizen of the world, living in Bali, Younis Hijazi (https://www.younishijazi.com/) and his 10X Indonesia initiative.
Anti-fragility on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antifragility) is a concept close to resilience, but with an interesting twist, I quote:
“Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same; the antifragile gets better.”
Nassim Nicholas Taleb (2012). Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder. Random House. p. 430. ISBN 9781400067824.Antifragile Mistaking the source of important or even necessary.
The interesting part here is “Antifragile systems get better” with shocks. I love this, as it reminds me of the Agile Way of doing things, with systematic retrospection at every iteration. If we learn from incidents, issues, or even shocks, we get better! I intend to rename Resilient Economy gradually into Anti-Fragile Economy and write longer articles. Keep tuned!
